Ex-Chelsea defender William Gallas has cautioned the Blues about the possibility of losing their rising star Cole Palmer to European giants Real Madrid or Barcelona in the future.
Palmer’s Exceptional Form
Palmer, 22, has become one of the Premier League’s brightest talents since joining Chelsea. With a remarkable 50 combined goals and assists since the start of the 2023-24 season, he has surpassed every other player in the league. This season alone, he has scored 11 goals and provided six assists, including a crucial brace in Chelsea’s comeback victory against Tottenham.
Interest from Spain’s Elite
Gallas believes Palmer’s impressive performances could attract attention from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Speaking to Prime Casino, Gallas said, “I think only Real Madrid and Barcelona could tempt Cole Palmer away from Chelsea. He would thrive in Spain, but Chelsea fans will hope those clubs don’t come calling anytime soon.”
Palmer is under contract with Chelsea until 2033, giving the club control over his future. Any potential departure would require a massive transfer fee, especially if Palmer continues to deliver standout performances.
Chelsea fans can watch Palmer in action during the upcoming London derby against Brentford, as the Blues aim to build on their recent momentum and keep their talisman in top form.
