Gianluigi Donnarumma Suffers Serious Facial Injury After Collision with Wilfried Singo in PSG’s Clash with Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain’s goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was left with severe facial injuries following a dangerous collision with Monaco’s Wilfried Singo during a Ligue 1 match. The incident occurred in the 13th minute when Donnarumma rushed off his line to challenge Singo, who was attempting a shot near the edge of the penalty box. In an unfortunate turn, Singo attempted to leap over the goalkeeper but inadvertently kicked Donnarumma in the face, causing deep cuts to the Italian’s right cheekbone.

The impact left Donnarumma visibly shaken, and he was quickly attended to by medical staff on the pitch. Despite receiving treatment, the goalkeeper was substituted in the 20th minute, with Matvey Sofanov coming on to replace him.

After Donnarumma’s departure, PSG managed to take the lead, with Desire Doue scoring from an assist by Achraf Hakimi. Monaco, however, equalized early in the second half when Salim Ben Seghir converted a penalty. PSG eventually secured a 4-2 victory, continuing their strong form in the league.

With PSG’s last match of 2024 coming up against Lens in the French Cup, Donnarumma will have time to recover. He is expected to be fit for the Trophee des Champions final against Monaco on January 5.
